Liz Claiborne Curve, Mambo, Bora Bora and Realities Fragrances

Liz Claiborne is an American company based out of New York that designs and retails women’s and men’s clothing throughout the world. It also owns a variety of brands including Mexx, Juicy Couture, Kate Spade, Lucky Brand Jeans and more.

Liz Claiborne New York is the label used to market and retail their designs and creations. In addition to clothing, Liz Claiborne also produces fragrances for women.

The original Curve perfume was launched in 1996 and includes orange, blackberry, apricot, mandarin, peach, grapefruit, ylang-ylang and bergamot in its top notes.

Mid notes include cyclamen, magnolia, cassia, damask, Rose, Freesia, Peony, Lotus and Lily-of-the-Valley while base notes include orris, sandalwood, amber, musk, violet, cedar and mahogany.

The Curve perfume smells of spring or summer and while it is a bit sharp at times, perhaps due to overuse of freesia or ylang-ylang, it is a very nice floral scent.

Mambo for Women was launched in 2001 and this Liz Claiborne perfume contains mandarin orange, mango and ylang-ylang as top notes. The heart is orange blossom, hibiscus and ginger while the base is made of sandalwood, vanilla and musk.

Mambo has a slightly heavy base and is good for wearing during the fall or winter but is primarily designed for nights out during the spring or summer. Some find this Liz Claiborne fragrance to be soapy or spray-like initially but it is a fruity-floral scent with a nice warm dry down scent through the vanilla, musk and sandalwood.

Bora Bora is a light floral Liz Claiborne perfume launched in 2002 and is inspired by the beautiful island of Bora Bora, a popular tourist destination. Top notes for the Bora Bora fragrance include orris, mandarin, orange, water lily and middle notes include tuberose, orange blossom, orchid and jasmine.

Base notes are ginger and sandalwood, which lends this fragrance a nice spicy feel. However, the Bora Bora fragrance is a very hit or miss perfume for different people, as those who do not like find it very unpleasant.
