Lancome Perfume - Hypnose, Tresor, Magie and More

Lancome is a French brand owned by L’Oreal as part of the luxury products division and recently celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2010. Products by Lancome include makeup, skincare and fragrances for the higher-end market.

Lancome fragrances include Tresor, Tresor In Love, Magnifique, Poeme, Magie Noire, O De Lancome, O Oui and Miracle but perhaps the most popular in their current lineup is the Lancome Hypnose collection.

Benghal is the second in the line of the Collection Voyage fragrances and was launched in 2007. Inspired by India, the Benghal perfume contains mandarin, ginger, osmanthus, jasmine, sandalwood and musk notes.

Great for wearing during the summer, Benghal is a feminine fruity-floral perfume with a very clear ginger note. Thus, those that do not like ginger in their perfumes are advised to stay clear of this one.

The Lancome fragrance Hypnose is perhaps the most popular scent from the brand in recent times. A woodsy oriental perfume, Hypnose for women was launched in 2005 and has notes of vanilla, vetiver, passionflowers, Sambac jasmine, solar notes and white floral all of which combine to create a warm woodsy fragrance.

The twisted bottle is a sleeker version of another Lancome perfume, the Magie fragrance’s bottle and is a very beautiful design. While Hypnose is sweet, it is pleasantly so and does not come across as immature or reminiscent of candy.

In fact, the Lancome Hypnose perfume is quite suitable for office and daytime wear with its warm undertones of vanilla and vetiver base notes.

While Lancome is most definitely a luxury brand, their fragrances are suitable for everyone and are quite popular as they are not all sweet, feminine and girly like many perfumes available in the market today.
